Oncological and Functional Outcomes of Supracricoid Partial Laryngectomy

Objective: The aim of this study is to review the oncological outcomes T1-T4 glottic or supraglottic tumor patients who underwent supracricoid partial laryngectomy in our clinic. Material and Methods: A total 43 with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma between January 2014 December 2016 Otorhinolaryngology Department Istinye University Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Postoperative data these regarding surgical margin, nasogastric feeding tube removal time, decannulation postoperative radiotherapy, local regional recurrence, distant metastases recorded. Results: Cricohyoidoepiglotopexy was applied 16 by preserving both arytenoids 7 a single arytenoid; Cricohyoidopexy 14 preserved, 6 treated arytenoid. five-year survival compared for Cricohyoidopexy/Cricohyoidoepiglotopexy arytenoid double preservation found be 80%-76% (p=0.56). mean 5-year 88% post-operative radiotherapy group, 86% non- group. those preservation; time 54.23±34.12 35.62±27.08 (p=0.05). prolonged (51.16±38.5 versus 32.68±20.1; p=0.043). duration placement group 50.3±14.3 35.17±32.9 (p=0.088). Nasogastric 53.29±50.2 30.24±16.8 did not receive (p=0.040). Conclusion: Supracricoid had satisfactory outcomes, function preserved rebuilding neolarynx.
